'Living in Your Car' Premieres on May 7 on HBO Canada
HBO Canada, a multiplex channel from the two premium cable networks The Movie Network (Eastern Canada) and Movie Central (Western Canada), announced that the upcoming Canadian half-hour comedy Living in Your Car will premiere on May 7 at 9:30 PM.
With the unstable economy as a backdrop, Living in Your Car follows Steve Unger (John Ralston), a fallen corporate executive whose rule of the financial world comes to an abrupt halt when he is arrested and charged with fraud, obstruction and racketeering. After cutting a deal to get out of prison, Steve quickly realizes his old life no longer exists: his former colleagues shun him, his wife, Lori (Ingrid Kavelaars), and daughter, Kate (Mariah Horner), don’t want to live with him, and even his own parents refuse to help him. As he clings desperately to the last vestige of his former self – a luxury sedan – Steve finds himself under court order to teach an ethics class, forbidden from working in any position that involves other people’s money, and making a new home for himself in his car.
The show also star Colin Cunningham (Breakfast with Scot), as lawyer Neil Stiles, and Lucia Moniz (Carol), as the quirky neighbour.
Moreover, note that the show was created and written by the award-winning team of George F. Walker (The Line), Dani Romain (The Line) and Joseph Kay (This Is Wonderland). Many episodes were directed by none other than David Steinberg (Curb Your Enthusiasm).
Finally, in case you're curious, the first episode will be available online for two weeks by April 23, 2010. Besides, Living in Your Car will premiere as part of the Friday night comedy line-up on HBO Canada with Less Than Kind at 8:30 p.m., The Ricky Gervais Show at 9 p.m. and followed by Real Time with Bill Maher at 10 p.m. and Funny or Die Presents at midnight.
